The first concrete page of my Children's Book project. Well actually, it's the 5th and 6th page, but I started here because I had no clue what kind of style I would use.
I'm doing the project with my friend, and we settled on an old Amerindian legend on how the Vulture got his feathers. It's a story my dad told me when I was young, and I always loved it so~
Anyway, my friend wrote the story in wonderful poetry, I just helped her edit and do the illustrations. This particular one is where the Vulture goes to ask help from Mother Earth because the birds of the world are cold and colorless.
Yeah, I have no clue how to draw a flying bird who's not supposed to have feathers. Woops. Also, I think I went a tad over the top with the background, I might get rid of the sun...thing.
Past many rivers and leaves dripping dew, Up through the canopy and clouds Vulture flew. He rose up to the stars shining in the sky No creature had ever flown so very high.
And after a long flight the Vulture arrived At the place where the mighty Creator thrived. Patient, the Creator tilted her head and smiled I have been waiting for you for quite a while.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
